Message From The President
Surrounding the area of Namhol, Distt. Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, maximum families are engaged and dependent mainly on Agriculture and dairy activities right for last several years, but as the people have small land holdings and for irrigation, they are dependent on rain, so they do not get the desired income from the traditional cropping system and hence focus on rearing of milch cattle for daily income. Earlier the milk producers were dependent on private contractors for sale of their milk, but this system was not suitable as:-
• The purchase rate of their milk was less.
• Their collection centers were far away and
• The payment of milk was not regular.
There was the need of a prompt system to resolve effectively the above problems.
Message From the Secretary
Kamdhenu Hitkari Manch is an NGO, registered under society act 1860, started its journey in Oct. 2001 with the collection of 37 Ltrs from 10-12 milk producers. The journey continues and today we are family of more than 5000 farmer families and organization is collecting more than 35000 ltrs milk from these milk producers. Kamdhenu has installed two milk pasteurization plant one at V.P.O. Namhol, Distt. Bilaspur (having processing capacity of 30000 ltrs per day), H.P. and second at V.P.O. Haripur, Distt. Solan, H.P. (having processing capacity of 15000 ltrs per day). After testing, processing and pasteurization of milk, the milk and milk products are supplied to seven Distt. of Himachal Pradesh and also in some part of Chandigarh. The Head office of the organization is also located at V.P.O. Namhol, Distt. Bilaspur, H.P.

The organization has provided direct employment to about 150 youths and also engaged 80 vehicles of contract basis for milk collection and distribution.
Kamdhenu Hiktari Manch was supported by every Govt. agency and department. To increase the consumption of milk and milk product, with the time Kamdhenu has started various ventures i.e. Kamdhenu Cattle Feed Plant, Kamdhenu Sweets, Kamdhenu Restaurant & cafeteria etc. Today, in the market Kamdhenu is known for its quality products.
For the excellent work in rural community Kamdhenu is awarded with “Himachal Gaurav Puraskar” on the eve of Himachal Day i.e. 15th April 2012, by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.
Kamdhenu is also awarded with prestigious “Gopal Rattan Puraskar” in the category of “Best Milk Co Operatives” by the Deptt. of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of India and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) on the eve of National Milk Day i.e. 26th Nov. 2021.
We want to make this activity as profitable business and trying continuously for the same. I am very much hopeful that one day we will surely success in our moto.
